Samsung’s next China launch is approaching, with a leaked image pointing to a luxury foldable based on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Specifications and international availability remain unconfirmed.

Samsung is preparing another foldable announcement in China, with a new-product event scheduled for October 29, 2026.

Reporting on Samsung’s Chinese announcement identifies a launch event featuring foldable devices. However, the teaser should be distinguished from a complete product reveal: the Samsung W27 name, final specifications and pricing still require confirmation through the launch materials.

The emerging picture suggests a premium W-series model rather than an entirely new global Galaxy foldable.

Leaked W27 image points to a blue-and-gold design

An image attributed to tipster Ice Universe reportedly shows the W27 with a dark blue rear panel, gold-coloured frame and matching accents around the camera housing. W-series branding also appears on the back.

The tipster claims the phone will share its specifications with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Neither the image nor that claim should be treated as an official W27 specification sheet.

If the relationship is confirmed, the main distinction could be presentation: materials, finishes, branding and the overall ownership package.

A photograph alone cannot establish construction quality, durability or how the finish looks in everyday lighting. Those details will need official information and hands-on assessment.

What a Fold 8 Ultra connection could mean

Samsung’s published Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra specifications provide a reference point for understanding the leak.

ComponentConfirmed Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra specification
ProcessorSnapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy
Main display8-inch AMOLED, adaptive 120Hz
Cover display6.5-inch AMOLED, adaptive 120Hz
Rear cameras200MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto
Battery5,000mAh typical capacity
Wired charging45W

These are Fold 8 Ultra specifications, not confirmed W27 specifications. Any transfer of those details to the W27 remains conditional on the leak being accurate.

Will the Samsung W27 launch in India?

Samsung’s W series has traditionally targeted China with more elaborate versions of its mainstream foldables. That history supports expectations of a China-focused W27 release, but it does not establish a final distribution plan.

The information reviewed for this report does not establish an Indian launch date or Indian pricing.

For readers outside China, the useful question is whether the final model offers meaningful differences beyond appearance. Extra memory, exclusive software or bundled accessories would need to be verified rather than assumed from previous W-series phones.

What to watch for on October 29

The launch should clarify the product name, configurations, price and release arrangements. It will also show whether the W27 changes the underlying hardware or primarily gives Samsung’s existing flagship foldable a different finish.

Until then, the event date and the leaked hardware claims belong in separate categories. Samsung has another China announcement approaching; the exact W27 package remains to be revealed.
