Samsung’s SM-R545 Bluetooth headset has cleared Korean certification, adding to reports of ear-hook earbuds. Pricing, specifications and a release date remain unknown.
Samsung’s rumoured Galaxy T1 earbuds have another regulatory clue pointing towards their development, although a launch date remains unconfirmed.
South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency has certified a Samsung Bluetooth headset carrying the model number SM-R545. The official record lists certification number R-R-SEC-SMR545, dated October 21, 2026, with manufacturing locations in China and Vietnam.
The entry confirms the headset’s certification details. It does not identify the product as Galaxy T1 or disclose its design, battery life or audio capabilities.
How the listing connects to Galaxy T1
Published reporting links the newly certified model to Samsung’s unannounced ear-hook earbuds, referred to as Galaxy T1 and previously associated with the internal name Buds Canal 5.
The same reporting describes an earlier Chinese certification, adding another regulatory milestone to the product’s reported development trail.
Multiple certifications can suggest progress towards commercial availability. They cannot establish when Samsung intends to announce the product, which countries will receive it or whether its final retail name will change.
An ear-hook design could distinguish these earbuds
Earlier reporting based on discovered images describes earbuds with hooks that wrap around the ears. However, it leaves uncertainty about whether the listening portion uses a conventional sealing ear tip or a less enclosed fit.
That distinction matters more than the outline alone.
An ear hook describes how an earbud is supported. It does not automatically establish whether the ear canal remains open, how much outside sound reaches the listener or whether the product offers effective noise isolation.
For people interested in workout earbuds, the eventual design will need to answer practical questions: whether the hooks remain comfortable during movement, how they fit alongside glasses and how easily the controls work with sweaty hands. Certification paperwork cannot answer those questions.
What remains unknown?
The Korean record contains no consumer specification sheet. It does not establish:
- Playback time or charging-case endurance.
- Active noise cancellation or supported audio codecs.
- Water and dust resistance.
- Retail pricing or regional availability.
Earlier references to battery capacity or audio-quality settings should therefore remain separate from confirmed product specifications.
A larger charging-case battery, for example, would not by itself reveal how long the earbuds last on one charge. That requires information about the earbuds’ own batteries and power consumption.
Could Samsung launch them with the Galaxy S27 series?
A future Galaxy smartphone event is one possible announcement opportunity, but the certification does not connect these earbuds to a particular event.
There is also no basis in this listing for promising an Indian launch or a specific launch window.
For now, the strongest conclusion is narrower: Samsung’s SM-R545 headset has received Korean certification, while reporting associates it with the anticipated Galaxy T1 ear-hook model. An official announcement is still needed to settle the name, features and release plans.
